2022 Thalhimer Challenge
The Richmond Tennis Association congratulated Westwood Club on September 25th for winning the 2022 Thalhimer Club Challenge. The event is Richmond’s largest tennis competition of the year.
Twelve of Richmond’s largest tennis clubs battled it out across the three-day weekend, with clubs fielding 22 doubles teams each day with players ranging from amateurs to former Division I college players. The event was hosted by Westwood Club and Salisbury Country Club and marked the 29th time it has been held.
“Thalhimer Club Challenge is most anticipated tennis event on the calendar and represents the largest fundraiser for junior tennis programs here in RVA,” noted Travis Miller, RTA’s president, “it’s truly a one-of-a-kind event that brings together the Richmond tennis community in competition and camaraderie. Congratulations to Westwood for bringing home the coveted trophy.”
Thalhimer is the lead sponsor through its Thalhimer Gives community outreach program that supports non-profit groups that create a positive impact. Thalhimer has been an active participant in the tournament and thanked the many volunteers for making the event a success. The RTA is a volunteer-driven non-profit that operates a variety of tennis programs and events for tennis players of all ages and abilities. Additional sponsors of Thalhimer Club Challenge include Mercedes-Benz and many others throughout the Richmond region.
