The Atlantic Coast Athletic Club played host to the third installment of the weekly Richmond Junior Tennis Circuit 2009 series. It is a novice series for players beginning to play competitively. However, that is not to say that there were not some hotly contested results out on the clay of ACAC. There were six total divisions and with consolation results there were twelve champions for the day. Future tournament dates can be downloaded here (PDF doc).

Girls’ 10 Singles:  Audrey Butterworth def. Casey Carnohan 6-2.
Girls’ 10 Consolation:  Georgia Beazley def. Caroline Jordan 6-3.
Girls’ 12 Singles:  Carly Feyerabend def. Marissa Raper 6-4.
Girls’ 12 Consolation:   Megan Rosser def. Emily Fischer 6-1.
Girls’ 14 Singles:  Hannah Jenkins def. Jodie Ehlers 6-1.
Girls’ 14 Consolation:  Katherine Maloney def. Elise Ohman 6-3.
Boys’ 10 Singles:  Tyler Shiflett def. Prakrit Shukla 6-4.

Southeastern Open Tournament Combines All Ages

The Southeastern Open Tennis Tournament, held at Battery Park, is an incredibly unique tournament in that it brings together players both young and old.  Walking through the park one could encounter anything from a Boys’ 12 singles match to a Mixed Open Doubles match to a Women’s 45 Singles match.  There were a whopping nineteen different divisions, allowing for players of all ages to thrive.

Boys’ 12 Singles:  Ryan Hovatter def. Chan Perkins 6-4, 6-1.
Boys’ 14 Singles:  Justin Cerny def. William Perkins 6-1, 6-0.
Boys’ 16 Singles:  Harris Blair def. Trung Trinh 6-4, 6-0.
Boys’ 18 Singles:  Alexander Preve def. Blaine Davies 6-0, 6-0.
Girls’ 16 Singles:  Madeline Wilson def. Ashley Milo 6-0, 6-1.
Girls’ 18 Singles:  Elizabeth Morgan def. Ashley Milo 6-1, 6-2.
Men’s Open Singles:  Jordan Lipstock def. Nick Annichiarico 6-0, 6-1.
Men’s 35 Singles:  Mark Willis def. Donnell Stewart 7-5, 6-3.
Men’s 40 Singles:  Alexander Terry def. Carlos Allen 6-2, 6-0.
Men’s 45 Singles:  Leonard Booker def. Wayne Motley 6-4, 6-1.
